Flora L. Williams, Ph.D., M.Div., AFC, RFC, is a professor emerita of family economics and financial counseling/planning at Purdue University. She has taught in Brazil, South America; Shanghi, China; and University of California, Davis.

She taught graduate and undergraduate courses for 32 years, did research, and wrote for academic and public audiences. Dr. Williams is an Accredited Financial Counselor, Registered Financial Consultant, and ordained minister. She directed a financial clinic which assisted clients from all socioeconomic levels. It received the outstanding financial counseling center in 2001.

She has published 18 books, 30 journal articles, 60 research papers, and over 100 presentations, as well as receiving numerous awards and citations. Other books and poetry are on her Website www.florawilliams.com.

Dr. Williams is married and has three children who graduated from college. One son is security manager in Iraq, a daughter is a graduate student, and a son is a special agent for the Department of State.
